“i was told you can't lay the t.v. flat but the instructions on my bravia 8 k-55xr80 says to lay it down flat on it's screen side to install the table top stand..on the rear of the t.v...now i'm confused.....HELP !!! please send answer quickly if you can”

Hi butch, we apologize for the confusion. The instructions in your BRAVIA 55XR80 setup guide are indeed correct. You can lay the TV flat on its screen side to install the tabletop stand. However, laying the TV flat while transporting it is not recommended as it can damage the unit. Hope this helps. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't want anything pushing against the screen. If you have the cardboard that was covering the screen in the box, tape it back over the screen. You can lay the TV, screen side down on a flat surface to attach a stand or wall mount.
