These are used for your remote control so you can use it if something is blocking the sensor in front of the TV in other words it gives you a wider range for your remote to control the TV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is an InfraRed Dector...if you have equipment connections enclosed in cabinets it picks up the signals. It does not have to be connected as long as your boxes are visible for your remote. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.An IR Blaster is for your other devices to be able to be controlled by your Sony TV remote. You will notice there is a sticky side to them, you place that sticky side on the front of the device(s) and this helps you calibrate to control them with your remote. You will leave it in place if you need to continue to use those devices with one remote. If this is something that you do not wish to do, then you will not have any use for the IR Blaster.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There's no need to use it if you aren't using a home automation system. It's designed for remotes that have a separate base station and need to connect to the TV. If you're just using regular remotes, you'll be fine without it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to Sony, that device is to help with the TV getting a signal from the remote control. Mine is still connected. Go onto Sony's website for instructions on its use.
