“Does anyone else have trouble with the remote? It has to be pointed DIRECTLY at the TV to work? Also, does not seem to be able to do some cable functions, like DVR or LAST channel....I have to use my cable remote when watching regular TV....suggestions?”

You need to point the remote control at the remote control sensor located at the front of the TV. Keep the remote control sensor area clear from obstacles.
