I don't use an extension cord. I use a large surge suppressor that I bought. I have all my audio-visual equipment plugged into it. It has 12 outlets. It was not cheap. As I remember it was around $75.00. T/he cord on it is like 6'. Dick
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suggest using a Universal Power Supply with voltage regulation to protect the TV's computer innards from surges and brownouts/voltage dropoffs. If you shop judiciously you should be able to get a decent one fit for purpose around $70 or so.
