Hi BillyC, The 65" BRAVIA 8 II stand, when set to the high/soundbar position, provides approximately 3.13 inches (80 mm) of clearance from the tabletop to the bottom edge of the TV. Your 3-inch tall soundbar should fit comfortably beneath the screen without blocking the sensor. Thanks for choosing Sony. Best regards, Eliab
