When it comes to mounting a TV outside, although they do make specific TV's that are weather resistant with special coating on the board, they are super expensive and you can buy 4 of these or more, for the price. Although temperature can hurt TV's, the new LED tvs don't run as hot, so that wouldn't be the big concern. The biggest concerns are keeping it dry. You need to keep it under a roof or shelter for sure. Not just an 1 foot overlap. Allow for wind driven rain. Also I recommend buying a cover for the TV to prevent morning dew from getting on the board, which will cause oxidation over time and will allow dust to cling to the board and lesson the life drastically. If you're not using a cover, don't power it up early in the morning, when there's still dew out. Allow it to dry for at least an hour after dew is gone. Keep direct sunlight off the screen, because it will discolor it over time, just like any TV. Twice a year, I'd unplug it and use a can of air to blow out as much dust from the vents as possible and inside of the casing through the vents. I recommend doing this with all TV's, even when kept inside. You'd be surprised that many TV's go bad due to dust buildup that shorts electronics or overheats it.
