• You don't have too, but I would recommend it.I have a Visio sound bar and it has always worked great.

• Hi, soundbars are not needed but great to have. The XBR65X750D boasts great video/picture and audio quality on its own. If you are planning to get a soundbar, we suggest going for a Sony for compatibility and complete entertainment experience. Regards, -Mark
