“It says it's hdr but the salesman at bestbuy told me that it doesn't have hdr and to go with the next step up for $300 more. He said with the newer technology that this one wouldn't be as good, does any of this hold true?”

• A TV with full array local dimming or an OLED would perform better with her. You can still get an HDR picture, but you won't get that great of contrast. As brightness raises, black levels aren't as good.

• The original version did not have HDR but the newer ones actually shows it on the box. All of these will have HDR if you update the firmware.
