A blu-ray player would need to be HDR/4K compliant to get the best picture out of this model. But a regular blu-ray player will look as nice as it can. With all the streaming devices out there, I'd recommend going to an Apple TV 4K model. If you haven't bought a large library of blu-ray movies in 4K already It can produce the best image your TV can display and you won't need to store a lot of discs. You can purchase movies through iTunes and not only watch them on your big screen but on your iPhone or iPad as well.
