The sales people told me it was OK for a short distance. I chose not to. When I opened the box it warned me three times not to put any pressure on the screen. I would think if you do lay it flat absolutely don't put anything on top.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When I picked mine up at Best Buy they said it should be standing up so I used 3 ratchet straps to hold it upright in the back of my truck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The manufacturer recommends transporting the TV upright, and not laying it down at any point, even when removing it from the box. I followed this recommendation and would agree with it as there is essentially no support across the majority of the screen to hold it rigid while being transported horizontally.
