“When I turn on the TV an icon displays stating that a SOFTWARE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE., plus an icon that states START. No matter what button I push on the remote the update fails to start. How do I engage the Start button?”

You have to use the remote from the the Tv, not the one from the cable, go to the cicle where are arrows, then press the arrow to the right to scroll to where it said Star, then press the center of the circle to select
