Hi suekie2, Thanks for the question. You can use the DVR button on your remote control to switch to your cable box input provided it is connected to the TV using HDMI cable. As for the Record button, this will allow you to record the currently viewed program on a DVR. This function requires Cable/Satellite box setup and is only applicable to select regions/country and model.
