Hi verna, Thank you for your inquiry! Sony uses 3 types of LED backlighting solution. Direct lit is used in Sony's foundation pieces. Full array is used in Sony Premium models. Mini LED is used in Sony flagship LED televisions. Sony's heritage in the television market allows them to do more with all 3 types of backlight system.
