You typically can't make something "better" with a lower original source but Sony does the best up-scaling of the current TV manufacturers. Each channel from your source could be different. I've tested content from OTA 480, 720 and 1080 and even channels differ from each of those resolutions. My Comcast box is set to 4K output (nothing is being broadcast in 4K BTW) and each channel is different, again based on source. DVDs look good from my Panasonic UHD BD player as well as BD discs, but that player is up-scaling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I put the direct tv into native mode because Sony has better upconversion the direct tv is good
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm using the 65" X950G with a wireless genie mini (model C41W-100) and have had 0 issues. I have resolution set to 1080i and the picture quality looks MUCH better than my previous tv at the same resolution with the 4k upscale. It's kind of hard to get used to the change because I find myself not being able to focus on shows because I can see every little detail like I am there. You can't go wrong with the Sony X950G!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Larger TVs will not always be the clearest and you have to sit further away from it so you are seeing pixels. But Sony is extremely good at upscaling and I have been impressed with lower quality video being improved. Ultimately you can have 1080 video that is just poor quality anyways and it will upscale and still look poor quality but not worse!
