Hi Titokeri, Rear speakers (surround sound function) are not supported by the unit. ~Ralph
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's complete garbage that you can use rear speakers with the a5000 but not the st5000. I bought the st5000 three years ago and the fact that this has been ignored when many are willing to buy the additional add-on speakers is ridiculous. I already overpaid for Sony, not going to any longer.

Than measn there is also sound output from this connector. If that's true then you can use a transmitter at that end and a receiver unit int the speaker end. Audio Pro had earlier their Living powered loudspeakers and I have used this to have wireless surround speakers to an Onkyo receiver. I am about to get a HT5000 system and will test if I can use my Living speakers wirh the same transmitter unit I used for my Onkyo receiver. If it works of course the total sound will be output to sthe speakers and not just the intended surround channnels in a 5.1 or 7.1 system. Just an idea.
