• Yes, you can do this but the receiver has Bluetooth so it's much easier to connect via Bluetooth from your iPad to play your music.

• With this receiver use the AirPlay or Bluetooth. I use these features with my iPad and iPod there is no need to run extra wires to the front. This way I can control all my content without having a cluttered area.
