• Based on the manufacturer's website, there are three codes that should allow this Sony universal remote control to operate a Sony DVD recorder, so it is very possible it could operate your Sony DVD/VCR combo. There is not a way to check for each individual product model. You should be able to order a replacement remote control for your Sony DVD/VCR combo through Best Buy's PartStore. • DVD/ DVD/VCR are listed in the products compatible, however, it does not automatically respond to Sony products. You still have to find the compatible code to get it to work. v
