• A:Answer Based on the manufacturer's website, there are three codes that should allow this Sony universal remote control to operate a Sony DVD recorder, so it is very possible it could operate your Sony DVD/VCR combo. There is not a way to check for each individual product model. You should be able to order a replacement remote control for your Sony DVD/VCR combo through Best Buy's PartStore. • A:Answer Check the Scientific Atlanta codes as Scientific Atlanta is a Cisco brand: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-remote.pl?mdl=RMV310 Some product functions may not be able to be controlled by the remote control in which case you need to still use the remote control provided with the component, most of the basic functions should work fine however.
