The "free installation" means free labor if you were to have it installed at a Best Buy location with an install bay. You still have to pay for the dash kit/harness/etc.

If you are offered free installation that covers labor but are charged $350. for parts - something could be wrong. Chances are this device will fit in your vehicle without additional hardware with the exception of cheap electrical/signal adapter/harness. However, there are vehicles that would need additional hardware. Example: steering wheel controls. Those are cheap too. If you have a vehicle that has features that are controlled through media screen such as lights, navigation, hvac- that adds up fast. Also, if your stock media player is of vastly different form factor and or shape/size of what you are installing, then you are going to need additional costly dash kits. If the stock player is the same size (common) -you will not.
