Local dimming is a process that allows TVs to display the brightest brights and darkest darks on screen at the same time by controlling independent areas(zones) of the TV. This can make for not only a brighter picture, but a picture with better color and clarity when compared to a TV that does not support this. It is important to note however, that just because a TV may have Local Dimming, does not mean it is created equal. This is where a TVs processor is important. X90L is powered by Cognitive Processor XR which makes this TV stand apart from the competition by having precise control of these local dimming zones in order to make a truly incredible picture. The backlights are broken out into zones that can be controlled independently of one another.
