Vast. The 900E or 900Z series are MUCH, MUCH better, especially with respect to overall contrast. The 850, when all blackened on screen "looks like" it is still on with a soft grayish haze, while in comparison, the 900 models appear as if the set as been turned off when the scene goes completely to black. The difference is striking.
