• Better contrast due to the full array LED backlighting. The black areas are truly black. It also has a faster processor that allows for better upscaling to 4k-like quality. There are other improvements as well, like sound quality, but the processor speed, and contrast were the biggest reasons why we chose the 940e. We're not disappointed despite the higher price

• The 940e is WAY freaking brighter and the local dimming is a lot better- 256 zones compared to 75 (I think) zones on the 900e. 900e has better motion handling and pixel response.

• The 940 has more led zones and the better processor. It will also receive the dolby vision update.
