Q: QuestionI stream live TV with apps like DirecTV now. This is the direction most are going, wouldn’t 120hz be better for getting the most out of the quality of picture instead of settling for 60hz?
Asked by Chivy.
- A:Answer I use DirecTV NOW (soon to be ATT TV NOW) as well with Apple TV's. Apple TV's don't offer 120hz in 4K or Dolby Vision. I don't think any other DirecTV NOW streaming device does either so you shouldn't have any issues.

Q: QuestionWhy did Sony cheap out on the refresh rate, going with 60Hz instead of 120Hz? Last year's 830F and 850F series both had 120.
Asked by Mike1818.
- A:Answer Have look at Rtings. com https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/what-is-the-refresh-rate-60hz-vs-120hz Conclusion "For most people, a TV with a 120hz refresh rate doesn't serve a purpose. There is no difference when compared to a 60Hz model if they are both playing standard content. If you are sensitive to judder or if you like the soap opera effect, then it can be useful. If you're into PC gaming though, a TV that supports a 1080p @ 120Hz input is very beneficial, since video games can actually be played at that faster refresh rate. A 120Hz monitor or TV displaying 120 fps content will have much smoother and clearer motion." Content Frame Rate Netflix 24 fps to 60 fps Amazon Video 24 fps to 60 fps Blu-ray Movies 24 fps Youtube 30 or 60 fps Cable/Broadcast TV (NTSC) 30 or 60 fps Cable/Broadcast TV (PAL) 25 or 50 fps
