Hi PCbuyer, Thanks for inquiring about the TV. As it turns out, the X80K doesn't feature Local Dimming. It has a Backlight dimming type of Frame Dimming with a backlight type of Direct LED. If local dimming is your priority, you might consider getting one of our TV models below. 2020 TV models: X900H/X950H/Z8H 2021 TV models: X90J/X91J/X92/X95J/Z9J 2022 TV models (upcoming): X90K (Full Array)/X95K (Mini LED)/Z9K (Mini LED) We'd recommend having a look on the Sony website and you will be able to see details on the full range of TVs that offer Mini LED & Full Array LED display.
