Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this tv about two weeks ago and have turned it on twice since purchasing it. The first thing I did was tested the audio and speakers on the tv and it sounds loud and clear enough to me. I did end up purchasing a sound bar system. However, it’s still sitting in the box and haven’t been connected to the tv yet. Mostly because I really don’t need it. For people who like to have the surround sound experience, then perhaps the sound bar system is great for them. But, all in all, the audio with the tv is loud enough. From speaking with many men, having a surround sound system seems to be what they like, so I’m sure your grandson would appreciate both. But, I think the tv is fine without it.
