Hi Jerry, Thank you for the question Not sure what sound system that you are using but when connecting a Sony sound system if possible use the HDMI eARC input#3 on TV. Make sure that the TV is set to external speakers in the audio settings. You will see the volume increase on the TV screen but that is the Sound system on screen visual not the internal speakers. If you are getting audio from both TV and sound system it could be a setting in the sound system HDMI settings.
