Hi REEF, LED TVs use a backlight to create an image, while OLED pixels are "self-lit," meaning each one can turn itself completely off. This allows OLED to produce "true black," while LED can sometimes look a bit gray in dark scenes. The BRAVIA 8 OLED is generally considered better for movies and gaming because it offers perfect contrast, vibrant colors, and clear views from any seat in the room. Thanks for choosing Sony. Best regards, Eliab
