Other than some specific exclusive feature one might have over the other, if I flipped a coin for A80k or the C2, never seeing the TV not selected, I'd probably be quite satisfied. I find the Sony scaling engine to be better than the C2, but C2 is no slouch. I watch movies and documentaries. If I watched sports a lot, I'd do the Samsung, which I find the colors too hyped for the type of stuff I watch. C2 would be equally good for movies, docs, that, after a lot of time staring at them in the stores. Never saw a80j, so can't say a80k is worse... however, wife saw a80k for the first time in our living room and did the Kneau "woah." She never does this. And that was 1080i up-rezzed.

And here is why: Aside from the model year, our A80K is compatible to use with BRAVIA CAM (CMU-BC1) and Ambient Optimization Pro, has a new standard remote with simplified buttons, and VRR is available at launch while this feature is available via software update for A80J series. Plus, with the OLED XR Contrast Pro and XR on the A80K, it will deliver better brightness range. Cosmetics have also changed, along with the dimensions of the stand that comes with the model. Each new year Sony improves the experience across all features. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From what I have read the A80K is just about the same as the A80J but with a few new features. I don’t think it’s a let down from the A80J but I can’t compare as I have never owned the A80J. All I can say is that I really like the 77” A80K , it’s the best TV I have owned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was sold on getting the LG C2 77", my wife and I went to Best Buy and I really was locked in on the LG, I asked the salesman if we could see them side by side, when we did, my wife and I both liked the picture and performance of the Sony over the LG. I recommend you do the same, by no means am I putting the LG down, it too was an amazing picture, however we both liked the Sony better, both were running the in store display media, so I highly suggest you do the same, side by side and pick the one that you like best.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So far I think Sony has done pretty well. I like that they give the option of going in and doing the oled maintenance on the screen and allowing it to refresh is so the prevent burn it. I did a ton of research before I bought this and most of what I found was that if you had an a80j there was not a huge difference between that and an A80k, so unless your going up in size you may not want to switch. And the lg c2 I think you get more 2.1 ports, but you wouldn’t really see a big difference visually. Unless they were side by side.
