  • QuestionDoes Sony still offer 3D TVs? Do they have an 85" 3D TV. If so does Best Buy carry them and what is the price?

    Asked by Adolfo.

    • Answer 3D technology has the potential to be far more superior now than at any other point in history due to 4K-UHD-BLU-RAY disc technology. 3D's past issues were that people didn't want to spend big money on 'Active 3D glasses' (battery operated), or a small minority received a headache from them. The only problem with wearing 'Passive 3D glasses' (like the kind that you find in movie theaters) is that when watching a 3D-BLU-RAY disc, each eye only sees DVD quality video. But if they were to make 4K-3D-UHD-BLU-RAY discs than each eye would see 2K quality which is double that of a standard BLU-RAY disc (i.e., SDR). The thing that I don't understand is that a TV manufacturer like Sony doesn't want to put '3D Frame Packing' on their line of Sony Master Series TV's for home theater applications. How can you call your ultimate line of TV's 'MASTER SERIES' if they don't even have 3D technology?
