Hi Dave, Thank you for the question. Regarding the XR85Z9K, this TV supports HDMI 2.1 which is 4K/120hz, 8K/60hz, eARC, VRR, and ALLM. For the HDMI cable, unfortunately, Sony doesn't have a recommended HDMI cable brand for our TVs. The best HDMI cable usually depends on the device that you will be using. If you are planning to connect a device that only supports 1080p or 4K at 30hz to the TV, a High-Speed (HDMI 1.3 to 1.4a) is okay. but if you are going to connect a device that supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 4K (60Hz) video signals, a Premium High-Speed (HDMI 2.0 to 2.0b) that supports speeds of 18 Gbps is recommended. And lastly, if you are going to connect a device that supports 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz, we recommending using an Ultra High-Speed (HDMI 2.1a) that supports speeds of 48Gbps. You may contact your preferred electronic retailer/dealer for best assistance in getting the right cable for your devices. The MASTER Series BRAVIA XR Z9K 8K Mini LED TV features flagship 8K picture quality, powered by XR Backlight Master Drive with Mini LEDs. With the Cognitive Processor XR™ the Z9K upscales any content close to 8K resolution so you can enjoy more detail and texture on a big screen. I hope you find this information to be helpful! Best regards, Romeo
