Hi Dino, thank you so much for your inquiry! You can use the TV even without using the voice recognition functionality. For the DIRECTV remote, this should work properly when controlling your DIRECTV cable set-top box. The DIRECTV remote control may not work when navigating the TV. Thus we recommend using only the supplied TV remote when accessing the TV settings and features. I hope this helps! Thanks! - Romeo

Not sure aboutDirect Tv. It works fine with Xfinity remote so I would assume it would work with newer Direct TVremotr

I do not use the voice over remote nor do I have Direct Tv. Sorry I couldn’t help you out.
