I'm not sure how long the battery will last, but I took 154 pictures (most with flash) over a period of 6 hours, and the battery still had a lot of juice in it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My wife and I take ALOT of vacations and took this everywhere. While in NYC, it lasted all day and some. It's a lot of walking and site seeing.

The battery will ALWAYS go out when you need it the most. As soon as I decided to buy this camera I purchased four additional generic batteries and an additional charger so I can charge two batteries at a time. Additionally, you can purchase an adapter to attach Canon or Nikon lens to this camera body; a good idea if you already have a Canon of Nikon system. The adaptor runs about $40.00 and it's well worth it.

Recording higher quality pictures and videos and using the wifi may deplete the charge faster. We do recommend having a back up battery or two if you're planning to shoot for the whole day.
