Yes! Sony excels in video! Great in lowlight too. For weddings I would add a battery grip that holds 2 batteries. That should get you through a wedding and reception with power to spare. That being said, I always carry 2 additional charged batteries for the "just in case" aspect! I love my camera!

But I love mine especially since it is so compact, if you plan to shoot more than just a wedding or two this camera is awesome for travel, hiking, and everything else. It will kick any canon or Nikon out of the ring. My suggestion is for an evening wedding party though to make sure you have a large aperture lens as you will need it for low light. They also do make mounts for the camera so you can have a shotgun mic and a ring light or flash at the same time. Battery life is the lacking area for this camera and it will only shoot 30 minutes of video uncut at a time for over heat protection. But no one wants to edit 30 minutes of continuous video anyway usually. I can usually get 300-400 pictures out of one battery though. But technically speaking this camera is the king of its class, anything that can beat it is full frame and 3-6000$ with usually half the features. https://youtu.be/7wM_5nROeaw Watch the video link this is a review of the 6500s grand daddy the 6000 and the camera has only gotten far more superior as it’s product line has progressed.
