“Use with iPod If I connect my iPod to this radio will I be able to play music or only charge the iPod? If it does play music, what is the sound quality and will it be broadcast through the radio speaker? If it does not accomplish these results, can anyone recommend an am radio with iPod capability that does.”

It does not allow playing of content through the alarm clock, only charging.

This is a no nonsense Alarm clock, if you want advise for what you want then i think a stereo system or a Docking station would be what you are looking for. Some docking stations double as alarms or your phones alarm blasts through most docking stations.

This is a nice, small bedside table device. 4"x4"x4". The speaker is small. The amplifier and audio driver is small. Its really monaural. My iPod 5th generation has speakers built in. The audio quality isn't that much different between these. Good for waking you up- giving you the news or soothing natures sounds to go to sleep to. Good for a 300 sq.ft. bedroom listening area or less. Monophonic, binaural, and stereophonic facility needs auxiliary devices and space for channel separation and phase coupling. And amplification with larger drivers. The Bose system(s), particularly the Wave System, is/are designed to give you a number of these audio qualities, separation and volume, that this model of Sony's design package could not address. Sony has some other offerings, too. These are a richer price-point and takes almost 3 times the space on your bed-side table. Trade-offs. Each has it purpose.
