Yes, yes, and no. Trim plate is necessary because the Silverado factory radio is a double DIN chassis and this is a single DIN head. Wiring harness is necessary because, as an aftermarket head unit, no harness is installed. "Plug and play" is unlikely, given the integration in electronics nowadays with vehicle computers. I recommend a professional installation if you have never done this kind of thing before.
