• Sony FDR-AX100 has a very good mic/pickup,especially indoor,what you can do is making sure your zoom/mic option is turned off,it should work fine.

• I don’t see why not. Better yet if you want better sound, use the Mic input on the camcorder itself. (but this requires additional accessories such as extra cords.) Hope this helps.
