If you pause your program (DVD) & go into another app, I could see how the DVD player when save energy & sleep mode. When getting back to the DVD hitting play,, that an option to start where you left off isn't a choice is interesting that isn't the default. I would call the customer service number for the DVD manufacturer to figure out how to drill down to that specific setting.
