• It is not a receiver. It is a Blu-Ray DVD player. It is capable of showing "Smart TV" apps. You need to attach it to a receiver (ideally one that is able to drive 5.1 channels). Many DVDs are recorded with Dolby 5.1 surround and/or DTS 5.1 surround.

• No it is not. It is simply a blue ray player, with internet capabilities. Must be connected to av receiver.
