Yes it will stream those apps that you want and as long as your router is wireless there should be no problem connecting I do not think that DVD DVD player has a hardwired network if it does then plug the cable directly in from the router to your DVD player

Jeanne, I bought this unit to play my DVD collection through the TV. I don't know it supports Hulu or Neflix. I have another unit to do Netflix.
