I am not sure about your old setup, but the new one was easy to set up. You probably need two people to get it out of the box, its fairly heavy and you need to be careful about pressing on the scree ( a NO NO). New ones have no RCA connections, only HDMI, USB and optical, but still coax for cable in. Hope this helps, Jim

I am a senior, as well and had the same concerns This one is very easy If you have an HDMI on your TV, that is all you need. Plug in the unit, Attach the HDMI and you are done If not, you use the red, yellow and white plugs like most old ones used
