Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The blu-ray DVD players will say so in the devices title. The trend for new models coming out is UHD 4K HDR DVD among a couple other terms. 4K is pretty much the same as UHD & HDR is short for High Dynamic Range & isn't crucial to the industry at this time. I needed to find just the right DVD player for the media set up I have all around me. LG had some decent models, & other companies had newer devices with some interesting balls & whistles. What I needed was a DVD player that could play regular DVD's Blu-Ray DVD's, & DVD's in Formats that were burned by peoples/ friends personal DVD creators. With SONY, I actually decided to go back to the S6700 3D Bluetooth enabled / wifi model because of the semi-forgotten technologies this model had (ie 3D) that hasn't yet taken off with consumers, but still could with the newer OLED / NANO Tech TV's flooding the market. If you google search compare models it does a decent job of showing what the S6700 does vs say the 700. or 800 models. A trend that is taking place is these communication technology boxes that offer media in many formats & for various reasons. The S6700 since it connects to the web allowing for apps to be downloaded on to the DVD Device which is what these Tech Boxes are doing. If you can find the S6700 model online at a price lower than 99 dollars & show Best Buy, they usually price match. There were some other tech options I wanted to bring up but I am blanking suddenly. Overall, the S6700 DVD 4K upscaling device offered everything I wanted & more & was smaller sized & well put together. I am very happy with it. I do not think the DVD players costing in the $200 + are worth that high cost for other DVD players that will play most all formats at much lower prices. I hope this helps. kind regards, rb
