Units purchased in the U.S. and Canada are classified as Region A and are designed to play Blu-ray discs coded for North America, South America, Japan, and parts of Southeast Asia. Because this model is locked to Region A, it will not be able to play Region B discs, which are typically sold in Europe, Africa, and Australia.
