• I don't understand how could someone give an incorrect answer and could not even back it up with any fact. This is NOT a regional free (or muti-system / multi-regional) player. it will play DVD from region 1 and Blu Ray disk from region A - which are made for the US market ONLY. Another thing to consider is that unless a DVD is marked as REGION FREE, it may play. You have to also make sure that it is not in PAL format (for Europe).

• Hi, Blu-ray Disc media does have region codes. The Blu-ray Disc player purchased in the United States will play any Blu-ray Disc from Region A and DVD Disc from Region 1, but will not play Blu-ray discs from Regions B or C and DVD discs from Region 2 or 3 . (The exception is a disc, player or drive coded as Region FREE.). Dave

• I would say NO, since most DVDs and players are region specific. You need a player that states plainly, and specifically that it plays discs from all regions. This Model Blu Ray manual says nothing about region free.
