DOLBY WEB SITE says all current Blueray players [HDMI v1.4] will pass Atmos bitstream on to the receiver, as well as AC3 5.1, 7.1 and other Dolby and I think DTS bitstream codes. The Blueray player does not need Atmos or other decoders,it passes on bitstream for decoding. The decoders the player has are 2 channel mixes for TV and Sound bars. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Tried to find out about Atmos but it's hard to find the answer, even went to Sony web site, but I think it is compatible. I did alot of research. Atmos may be passed on as a LPCM bitstream, but I think it's encoded with DOLBY TRUE HD as a control code. It MUST be compatible with other DOLBY codes, and decoders so a disk will play on Blueray players and still decode Atmos.
