“I can't get the player off letterbox for dvds or Netflix. 46 in tv 16:9. I turned off letterbox on menu. I was replacing an old Samsung Blu ray player that was working ok, just wanted a newer one. I did not have that problem on old one.”

Not sure why you'd want to but if you need to chop off picture information, you would have to use the zoom function on your television. This player does not have a zoom function.
