This player cannot play UHD/4k discs. It's a different format entirely and requires a dedicated UHD/4K Blu-ray to play them. This player will only upscale a standard Blu-ray to UHD/4k resolution, but then again your 4K TV is doing the same thing.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit is not an actual 4K player, it just streams 4K content (from Youtube, Netflix, Vudu etc). The player is only for DVDs/Blu Rays, but upscales the resolution for a (moderately) better picture. You'll currently have to shell out $400 if you want an actual 4K disc player, but they will be going down in price in due time. Hope that helps!
