I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH, This is what I THINK is true, Up conversion on the 7200 means converting a USB or other signal to a HDMI signal. which may not be any better. Upscaling on the 6500 means up scaling the display to 1080i 1080p, or near 4K if your TV can display it. I have a Sharp Aquas Q+ TV which is not true 4K but close, with a SONY 6500 and it does what it says it will and more. Very impressed !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.CORRECTION Sony web sit says both Upscale, both have Dual Core Processors, and no HDMI cords included. The 7200 has a better 4K Upscaler chip and decodes Super Audio CD discs. BOTH require 4K Displays. See Sony BDPS 7200 web site for more information.
