• CORRECTION The Dolby and DTS Decoders in the player are 2 channel mixes for TVs and soundbars. Surround decoding is done with the receivers AC3, Dolby, Pro Logec, 5.1, 7.1 ATMOS, DTS, ect, decoders if so equipped. See Sony web site for more information.

• The Blueray player passes on the signal to the receiver for sound decoding, except audio comming from the TV or Soundbar.

• Yes, as long as you have a surround sound receiver that can do so. I have watched movies on it using my Pioneer Elite VSX-90 and have no problems decoding DTS-HD.
