“Could you mount these above the TV or do they have to be mounted at ear level? Stands are not an option due to kids and there are windows around the tv”

One of the pluses of this system is it's ability to adapt where the speakers are and create that 'acoustic bubble' they speak about. There is an option in the system to set the 'height' of the sound field. If the TV is above, setting this to 'higher' will have the center channel be higher where to TV is which could remedy the concern
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.These can really be put anywhere per SONY, but remember that if you place them too close to the ceiling, the height effects will likely be diminished as there won’t be enough distance from the ceiling for the vertical sounds to bounce off
