“Will this work with the Sony DH 750. Also will any of the speakers on sale work with this system, I am thinking of just getting the Polk speakers . I know I can connect 5 speakers to the system but the room is small. Do I even need a subwoofer ?”

Yes I have the sony dh750 as well. I have 5 speakers plus the subwoofer. The sony speakers work great, the polk sounded nice too.. price is similar, but went with the sony and am happy. Wait for a sale, they go half off sometimes. If you don't want all 5 look into a sound bar and sub combo.

You can connect it to the subwoofer out port of your receiver. For speakers, you can connect any speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver to avoid a risk of hardware damage. For a more room-filling sound experience, we recommend adding a subwoofer to your setup. Thanks! - Romeo
